A novel long-period and high-stability 3D hotspot matrix has been constructed with the assistance of glycerol based on our previous study on dynamic-SERS approach in water system: it can increase efficient hotspots duration from few seconds to twenty minutes, and then strongly improve sensitivity and reproducibility for SERS detection.
